Well, we finally returned *home* to Alabama last night after a week away visiting family. It's always good to sleep in you own bed again! Although I wasn't very happy with what the bathroom scales told me this morning. Traveling and all the eating that comes with it is wreaking havoc on my weight.
The five pounds that I'd lost this Spring are back--and they brought a few friends (how rude, right?!)! I am not very happy about that, to say the least. So I've got to start being very good with my eating habits, starting with cutting waaaay back on my cream and sugar with my coffee this morning. I'd love to learn to drink it black, but that hasn't happened yet.
Next, I've got to develop--and stick with--some sort of exercise routine. I realize that's imperative for me, and it's one of the hardest things for me to do. I always use the excuse that I don't have time (or something equally lame). I've been thinking that a good video workout might be just the thing for me. Maybe even something where the kiddos can play along with me (so that I'm not working out late at night after they're tucked in, because I'll never have the energy for that!).
Do any of you have any good suggestions for me in the workout dvds area? Because I need HELP!

So sorry to hear the scale had bad news. I know how that goes! No workout dvd ideas for you, but if you want you are welcome to join me and a couple friends as we start our pushup challenge this coming week. See post on my blog if you're interested. We meant to start this week but didn't make it, so you're not too late to join the, uh, fun!
My friends are continuing to bring friends and have for the last few years. I can't seem to get them to stop and realize there's no party going on. If you find a good DVD, please let me know. I've tried a couple I got *cheap* that were pilates or stepping but I've not been happy with them, so I try them once or twice and they are garage sale history. I keep thinking I'd like to try the "Sweating with the Oldies" because I like to dance, but not really dance in public kind of dance, just shake it at home with the kids kind of dance. I've seen it advertised on TV now on DVD just recently. I just know I need help, and fast!
You mentioned about me being from Arkansas too...I'm from NC Arkansas, Mountain Home to be exact, beautiful area but a couple hours away from any interstate system.
Is your trip laundry as bad as my trip laundry? I'm still not caught up!

I think having someone to be accountable is really important too. I ride my bike with my boss every morning at 6:00 a.m. I am not a morning person and he starts texting me at 5:30. There is no way he will let me out of riding. I have lost 12 lbs in about 6 weeks riding my bike.
I hope you can find what works for you!

As for videos...I've done Pilates and Tae Bo. I like them both, but usually loose interest b/c I get stuck on one thing and forget to "mix it up." I've also done the "walking videos" with Leslie Sansone...those are pretty good. I saw that The Biggest Loser just came out with some DVDs from the trainers on there...they look really good, too.
Hope that gives you some ideas. Let me know how it goes. Again, too bad we don't live closer, we could get together and do them...wouldn't THAT be hilarious!
