I started collecting nativities sort of by accident. My husband got my first one~it's the biggest one and my favorite. But then I received several more as gifts that are smaller and very unique and I just love them. I have bought a couple more myself, too, just because I couldn't resist:) I wanted to share them with you today. (I'm sorry that the pictures didn't turn out better. Except for the first one below, my nativities are displayed on our bookcases during Christmas and the books and photo frames don't make for great backgrounds).
Here is the one from my husband. Isn't it beautiful? A family friend painted it for me and Vince made the stable to display it in.
This one was a gift from my mother-in-law. It's made of alabaster and is so pretty.
This one is from Peru. It's totally handcrafted. The little doors on each side close up and hide what's inside the box~so cute!
This one is my tiniest one. It's from Guatemala and is made from clay and hand painted. The top of the church comes off as you can see and reveals the holy family inside. Charming!
This one is hand made in Mexico. It's very miniature and so beautiful. I love the very tiny sheep.
This one is just a whimsical one that I found and had to have!
This last one is just like one I had as a child (in fact, I bet my mom still has it packed away, but it's missing most of the scene it's been so broken). I found this in an antique mall and had to have it for sentimental reasons, you know.

I LOVE your collection of nativities, I think I have 5 myself (at the last count!).
Have a lovely weekend.
Hugs, Ann
I have one large nativity we bought when we were first married, and a small ornament one that hangs on the tree. I want to start getting some smaller ones for the kids to play with. Must start looking this year. I love nativity sets.

Catherine
I'm so glad I could come and gaze on yours, though.
Thanks so much for sharing all of yours...
