This week I made one of our family's favorite summer meals: steak and veggie kebabs! We've been making this oh-so-simple recipe pretty much since we were first married. You just can't beat it!
This week I made the kebabs with steak, zucchini, red onion, and bell pepper--because that's what I had on hand. I also like to use cherry tomatoes, squash, potatoes, and mushrooms sometimes, too. And I sometimes change out the meat--chicken and shrimp taste equally amazing--or even just make veggie kebabs with this recipe!
Here's how we make them:
After skewering your choices of meat and veggies, throw them on the grill
and brush them with this while they're cooking:
and brush them with this while they're cooking:
In a microwaveable bowl melt 1/2 cup butter then add
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
salt & pepper to taste
Stir it well and then start brushing it onto your kebabs while they grill.
This makes enough sauce for about 6 skewers.
This recipe doubles very easily.
Now go get your grill on!
