This year we~and when I say *we*, I mean The Princess and Mr. B~are starting our first nature journals. I personally have never kept a nature journal, but I think it sounds like a lot of fun. My kiddos absolutely LOVE to draw and color so I thought this would be a great way to encourage that. They also love the outdoors, so it should be an easy assignment for the year.
This past weekend we got off to a good start at a local park. We enjoyed lunch with the ducks, some playground action, watching cloud shapes, nature walking and a little journaling. We were hoping to paddleboat, too, but apparently there were storms in the region and they wouldn't let us.

Don't you love those gorgeous blue feathers?
This duck kept showing off her hairdo~the kids thought it was so funny:)
I love swinging with my kiddos!

Today we're headed to another Arkansas state park for a day-after-Labor-day picnic. I'm sure the kids will find lots more to add to their nature journals.
