I'm not sure that I'm ready. But it's here anyway:)
I love our American Thanksgiving! I love reading about and teaching my children about the Pilgrims and Indians at that first Thanksgiving feast. Even though we are *officially* on our Thanksgiving break this week, we will still be having a little history lesson each morning talking about the history of our Thanksgiving Day {shh..don't tell the kiddos:)}.
So what are your plans for Thanksgiving? We will be having dinner at my parents' house with my family on Thursday, then on Friday we will be having dinner with Vince's family in Oklahoma. So I'll probably gain 5 pounds this weekend-ha! Let's hope not!
While I'm not the one responsible for the turkey this year, I do have lots of cooking to do. This weekend I was busy making my grocery list for all those holiday dishes and really didn't give much thought to my dinners for the rest of the week.
So here's what I've come up with, off the top of my head...
Monday: Stir Fry and egg rolls (yes, if you noticed, this is bumped from last week)
Tuesday: Potato Soup
Wednesday: taking advantage of the *kids eat free after 4pm @ Firehouse Subs* since I'll be swamped getting ready for Thanksgiving
Thursday: Thanksgiving #1, {my part: dressing, cranberry sauce, corn casserole*, rolls}
Friday: Thanksgiving #2, {my part: corn casserole, sweet potato casserole*, broccoli casserole*, mandarin orange salad}
Saturday: I'm pretty sure I'll be in a turkey-induced coma by then, so who can say?!
*I'll post these recipes later this week
