It has been a very full week--and a very fun one!
We had another fun Saturday morning at Lowe's Build & Grow kids' clinic building little wooden Valentine boxes. My kiddos absolutely LOVE their mornings at Lowe's! I'm so glad we finally got around to attending those.
Later in the afternoon that Saturday, Mr. B lost his first tooth! Talk about excited--he had that tooth tucked into his *tooth fairy* pillow way before bedtime:) He's been waiting to lose a tooth for months.
I snapped this sweet shot of Vince reading the newspaper to the kiddos. He was reading a devotional that he'd written for the religion section that weekend. They were excited because it included a picture of them.
Monday brought our co-op classes AND our homeschool group's big Valentine party! The kids were SO excited!! They had worked long and hard on their boxes and Valentines and couldn't wait to share them with their friends. It was just a really great day overall--even if it was a long one:)
Tuesday was, of course, Valentine's Day. There was lots of celebrating at our house! You can read more about that in a separate post I did.
Wednesday was finally a regular school day at our house. Since we pretty much took Valentine's Day off (my kids think all holidays are equal in their dismissal from lessons...haha) we doubled up on lessons on Wednesday. And that went fine, we stayed right on track, thank goodness!
Thursday was another good school day. We spent quite a bit of time talking about the Byzantine Empire, Emperor Justinian and Empress Theodora. The kiddos colored, cut out and played with some paper dolls from our history activity book. They even drug out the Roman paper dolls they had made last Fall and played *war*--between centuries apparently:)
This morning (Friday) we went on a field trip with our homeschool group to the local rock quarry. There is tons of limestone in this area so that's what we saw them mining. It was interesting and fun to drive down into the quarry and watch the big trucks and all of the conveyor belts in action.
Also this week we received 3 more postcards from the swap we are participating in. They kiddos are really enjoying checking the mail every day for them. I was finally able to find some for our state as well and even got them addressed. Hopefully they'll go in the mail this next week!
Now I'm looking forward to a little R&R this weekend. We have some friends in from out-of-town and are looking forward to hanging out with them.
Have a great weekend!
