Giving Thanks~Day 1

Giving Thanks

This week I'm joining Kelli at There is no place like home for a week of *Giving Thanks* and preparing for Thanksgiving.

Now this year I am not actually hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house. We are traveling to Arkansas for dinner with my family, but it will be great to start preparing this week and getting in the spirit of thankfulness.

Today I'd like to share some pictures of our Thanksgiving table last year at my parents' house. My sister did most of the table decorating while I was helping with the cooking. It turned out very nice!

She made a runner using a fabric remnant, added a cornucopia with faux fruits and veggies (from my mom's everyday decor), made little mossy candle holders with mini flower pots, and--my personal favorite--made place cards using a template and turkey trivia from (who else!) Martha Stewart's website. They were functional, fun and educational all in one! These are especially fun for the kiddos.

Join us at Kelli's for a more *Giving Thanks* all week long!

I've got to get all this stuff out again. I think I packed it all away together, but you know me--there's no telling. =) I have to make at least one new turkey this year, too.

What a gorgeous table. Very natural and festive looking. I think I need to copy that turkey idea, so thanks for passing that tip along. My kids will love making those. Too fun!
