Menu Plan Monday: Aug 2nd

Yeah! My hubby's home and it's back to real cooking this week! I have felt like such a slacker, but the schedule this past week was sort of crazy. I'm ready to have some routine at home again. That's just the way I am:)

And I'm ready for a date night with my hubby! So we've got that in the schedule:) We try to do that at least once a month. I'm so thankful that Vince is wonderful about date nights. They usually aren't fancy, just dinner and a movie (sometimes at the theater, sometimes a rental) mostly, but they are always good times together. I love it when we drive to eat about an hour away because then we have all that good talk time in the car! And talk we do! ...Those of you who are married: do you have date nights with your husband often? I highly recommend it!

Well, here's what's cooking this week:

Monday: Pot Roast, Carrots, Potatoes and Corn Fritters (trying some of my new all-grass-fed beef!)
Tuesday: Grilled Tuna Melts w/Chips
Wednesday: Tostadas
Thursday: Grilled Chicken Breasts, Creamed Spinach and Black-Eyed Peas (trying some of my new organic chicken!)
Friday: {DATE NIGHT!!}
Saturday: French Dip Sandwiches & Onion Strings

I used this link last week to get inspired to create a menu. I got so inspired, I forgot there even was a blog party about menu planning! As I was getting myself together to fill out my menu plan for the upcoming week, I came across your blog. Great timing! I will now be writing my blog post for tomorrow. See you in a bit.

WooHoo for date night! I think it's great you have a menu plan, that is something I have never been able to stick to.

I love the quilt look of your template, so cute!

Hi Lora, popping over from MPM, date nights are always good, I need to get back to doing that with hubby. Our inlaws are in CA right now, when they're back in Sept I think I'll plan a monthly night too ;) Thanks for sharing your menu, I'm trying to be frugal and plan each week again too. It's always nice to get inspiration from others.
Come say hi

Thanks for the visit! I need to be better with menu planning, I am in a RUT!
Good luck with your curriculum choices. We really do enjoy Apologia and Horizons. And Getty-Dubay is the best I have seen in handwriting!

Great ideas for menus - I love to see what other moms do - it always helps me to plan ahead too!

We have our 18th anniversary coming up later this month but since we'll be gone (LOTS of travel at this stage of our lives with being part of Wycliffe's ministry) - we're going out this weekend. I love a quiet dinner with my hubby - love my 7 kids too - but an occasional date is good for parents AND kids!! :)
