Recently I read a series of books that I wanted to share with you: The Wright and Wingold Trilogy. They are written by Lisa D. Piper. They are her first efforts at writing novels and I must say, I'm impressed. The first in the series is Discovering Elizabeth. In this initial book you are introduced to the main character, Elizabeth, but also characters who will continue through the next two books.
Next in the series is Rescuing Gabrielle, followed by Promoting Sophie. Each book has a solid Christian theme throughout and the author tackles some tough subjects, such as domestic abuse, a crisis of faith and the temptations one can face in life.
While the trilogy may seem to have a slower start, Lisa brings much needed background and setting for her stories at the beginning and builds on those through each book until you are brought to a very dramatic and exciting ending. The second and third books build well on the first. It's also very easy to relate to Lisa's characters. She does a great job of making them seem like someone you would know in real life.
You can check out these books and others that Lisa has written on her site. You should also check out her fan page on Facebook. I look forward to reading more of her books.
I've got two stacks (literally!) of books that I'm reading through right now. In the Fall I barely have any time to do that sort of thing, but I'm determined even if it's only for a few minutes a day. There are just so many good books out there! I am currently reading The Shadow Portrait in The House of Winslow series, by Gilbert Morris.
I'd love to hear what you're reading right now.

But since I've been laid off, I have read a bit each night before going to sleep. Right now I'm reading one by Amy Tan. It's pretty good....Saving Fish Before Drowning.
I admire your tenacity and the fact that you are determined to read a bit each day. Good luck!
