Early on Wednesday morning my grandma, RoyLee Tapp, went to Heaven to be with Jesus. Today our family and friends are gathering to celebrate her life.
My grandma got her name, Roy Lee, from her father. She was born during the terrible flu epidemic in 1918 and her father, along with many others, were deathly ill. It was all everyone could do to take care of the sick, let alone name a newborn. When my grandma was two months old her father passed away and they named her after him. She was never fond of her name and insisted that it be written all together and pronounced all together.
