Does your family like to play board games? Ours does! I grew up playing board games~my parents weren't big tv watchers and we didn't even have on until I was in 6th grade. We played lots of games!
Some of our faves back in the day were Pit, Probe, Othello, Monopoly, Life, Triominos, Uno...just to name a few. When I was even younger I loved the classic games like Hi-Ho-Cherry-O, Candy Land and Memory.
Now my children love to play games and I'm so glad. They have some of the new versions of the classics (my old versions are at Nana & Papi's for them to play with there) and also games that weren't around when I was a kid. I also like to look for games at the big seasonal consignment sales that I shop. It's so fun to get a game in great condition for $1!
Vince and I love to play games, too! Although for a while we had to ban ourselves from playing Phase 10 before bedtime~we are both SO competitive and we were going to bed mad at each other. haha!
We love to have friends over to play games. Some great group games that we like are Scene It, Cranium, Family Feud and Scattergories.
I'd love to hear about the games that you and your family like to play! Maybe we'll discover a new favorite.

I prefer card games to board games usually. Have you tried Dutch Blitz (your kids are probably a little young to play against you unless you slow down, but it's like Nertz). Check out CBD if you haven't heard of it.

I forgot about Taboo! We don't own that one, but we LOVE to play it! I've never played Dutch Blitz, but I have seen it in CBD's catalog...I'll have to check it out.

We love to play Apples to Apples, too, and dominos--have you ever played *chicken foot* with them? So fun!
My favorite non-kid games are Scrabble, Risk and Monopoly. For years, Scrabble was our Saturday night tradition. No heading out for a night on the town - we'd turn on some fun music and battle it out with Scrabble.
Games with the kids - well they are 2 and 4 so you can imagine what "level" of games we're at. Sarah - nothing. We're still trying to teach her the concept of turn taking. Charlotte loves Yahtzee Jr, CandyLand (she calls the gingerbread men 'gingerbread ladies'), The Lady Bug Game, and some card games (Go Fish and Old Maid come to mind).
It will be fun as the kids get older and we can play more games as a family.
You know, I have never played backgammon. Maybe we should try that one sometime.
My daughter loves those card games, too, she's so funny about Old Maid--always sticking the old maid card way out so I'll choose it. lol!
When we are at the cabin we pay games and cards every night.
