This month has been so incredibly busy. I still can't believe that it's nearly over. And May is shaping up to be a total blur!
Sometimes you just have to let some things go and hang on for the ride. I feel like that's what I'm doing these days. There is just so much going on at this time of the year every year.
End-of-the-school-year wrapping up, Mother's Day planning, church yard sale, special church events, science fair, co-op, upcoming mini-vacation, finalizing yearbook pages for our homeschool group, special ladies' events at church, helping my mother because of her broken shoulder, helping my husband every way that I can because he wears too many "hats", trying to plan our garden, ...the "list" never stops, right?
And sometimes I don't do so well when I'm feeling overwhelmed. I really just want to curl up on the sofa with a pint of Graeter's Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip ice cream and watch hours of Psych. Now that's relaxing!
Instead I'm up till 12:30 am cleaning up my kitchen, or helping my hubby finish a task so he's not getting to bed at 2:30 am. I'm thinking relaxing will have to wait a few more weeks.
But even in exhaustion and busyness and feeling frazzled, there are still so many rewards.
Our church's Wednesday night Bible study is steadily growing. And not just in numbers, we're seeing beautiful spiritual growth. And even though the Foundation Truth study that we're doing is simply a refresher course for me, I am growing from it, too. God's Word never returns void, there's always something new and wonderful to learn, and so many more ways we can grow.
I am so enjoying getting to know and spending time with the ladies at our church. Some have been there for years--way before me--and some are brand new. We are all different ages and at different stages in life. But we are all women. This week we enjoyed a very fun night of food, fellowship, crafting, and a classic movie. And we have some great things planned for the upcoming months! I love seeing relationships built and strengthened.
So, I'm hanging on for this ride! The ride of life isn't always easy and there isn't always enough sleep, but there are so many rewards along the way and I don't want to miss any of them.
So while my house is messy and in great need of a spring cleaning, the laundry overflows, the yard work is begging for attention, there are probably things growing underneath the seats of my car, I have to grocery shop at 10:30 pm, and the "to do" list gets added to daily ...I must breathe. And take one day at a time.
And remember this verse:
