It has been a few weeks since I've had a chance to do a weekly wrap-up. I can hardly believe it's already April!! March definitely was a whirlwind for us, but that's to be expected when we celebrated two birthdays and Easter all in one month!
In our homeschool this week...
We buckled down and really got some work done. Shhhhh.....don't tell my kiddos but each day this week (except for today, when we have co-op) we accomplished two days of school work!! Yea!! After looking at the calendar I decided we need to make a little better time in order to be able to take a summer break when we need to do so. So I am lesson planning accordingly. We won't do this every week, but maybe every other.

Places we're going and people we're seeing...
Last week we enjoyed going to see Huck & Tom and the Mighty Mississippi at our local theatre. It featured snippets of the stories from The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. We have just recently started reading Tom Sawyer as our family read aloud and so the kids loved seeing some of Tom's antics acted out on stage.
After having Good Friday off, we headed back to co-op today. The kiddos are having a great time as usual with their classes. I am assisting in the Science Fair class and it's a lot of fun! Mr. B's class is working on a project to determine the average number of each color of M&M in a bag of M&M's. Yes, this means I got to eat M&M's today:)
And in The Princess' class they are working on the hypothesis that "fat added to food improves the flavor". Today we taste-tested four kinds of chocolate sandwich cookies: Original Oreos, Reduced Fat Oreos, Sugar Free Oreos, and store brand chocolate sandwich cookies. It was a yummy experiment that produced some very interesting results!
My favorite--and my kiddos' favorite--thing this week...
Getting to enjoy some time outdoors! It's seemed like a very long and wet winter here so I have been thrilled to send the kids out to play several days this week. And today was nice enough to head to the park!
Another favorite from this past week was our Easter weekend~we had some great times together, but you can read more about that here.
I'm grateful for...
I have so many things that I'm thankful for this week! A wonderful church family, my loving family and an amazing hubby who is patient with me beyond belief, a good sense of accomplishment in our homeschool this week, and God's mercies that are new every morning!
A photo to share...
A few days ago we spotted this beautiful hawk out our kitchen window. He was on the back fence of our neighbor's yard (so, yes, this shot is greatly zoomed in). I have a suspicion that he was watching for the little rabbit family that lives nearby. He sure was gorgeous though!
Blessings!

It is nice that spring seems to have finally arrived!
Interesting food experiments! I think MY KIDS would love those! (Who wouldn't I guess! LOL)
Looks like a good week, you're pretty sneaky :) I like it.
