Early on Wednesday morning my grandma, RoyLee Tapp, went to Heaven to be with Jesus. Today our family and friends are gathering to celebrate her life.
My grandma got her name, Roy Lee, from her father. She was born during the terrible flu epidemic in 1918 and her father, along with many others, were deathly ill. It was all everyone could do to take care of the sick, let alone name a newborn. When my grandma was two months old her father passed away and they named her after him. She was never fond of her name and insisted that it be written all together and pronounced all together.

She was incredibly beautiful! It is sounds like she was loved very much. Prayers for you today.
We've talked a little through comments about our Grandmas, and I know there are some common threads. Thank you for sharing a little more about her. I loved hearing about how she got her name, although it was sad, and enjoyed looking at all the pictures. Some of them you hadn't shown us before.
I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you. Vickie
This is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful woman.
Love.
