First week of back-to-{home}school completed: check!
It was one crazy-busy week and thankfully I had planned a lighter schedule to ease back into our school groove so we still got our schoolwork done. We ended up moving my sister into an apartment in our town this week. She's been planning to move for a while and landed the top of the waiting list just last weekend. So everything finalized this week and now she's here! The kiddos are so excited to have their aunt near again (and I'm thrilled, too!).
Now, some highlights from our week:
Rainbow pancakes on Labor Day
Blowing bubbles for Holly (she likes to jump up and eat them)
First morning of school this year--
Getting back into handwriting practice
Making a lapbook on the ocean
Playing a matching game about all types of shells
Learning about the language of salt
The kids took a notion to build a periscope all on their own this week.
They've had a lot of fun with it.

Overall, it was a great week! Mr. B claimed that he wasn't ready to start back, but every morning he was up super early (before me a morning or two) and starting early before The Princess was even out of bed. It was very humorous!
On Friday we had another great day of co-op! In Creative Writing they enjoyed making up stories using Rory's Story Cubes as inspiration, in Muscle & Fitness they worked out (The Princess took the prize in jump-roping!), in the Parables of Jesus class they learned what it means to be a Good Samaritan by cleaning up in the church that hosts our classes, and in the Constitution class they continued working on the lapbooks.
I'm so glad to be relaxing a little today. My sinuses have gone crazy this past week and that has been somewhat exhausting. Of course, we're going to Lowe's Build & Grow clinic and helping my sister do some more unpacking today, too.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too!
