{If you are visiting from Hammock Tracks this week, welcome! I am honored to be featured by Savannah on her weekly Homeschool Review interview this week. I hope you will hope over and visit Savannah. She has a lovely homeschooling blog and I am so enjoying getting to know her.}
Did I really say at the beginning of this week that we were having a spring break?! This week has been one of the busiest and most exhausting weeks I've had in a long time. The only ones getting a break around here has been the kiddos~but then that's what spring breaks are all about, right?
In our homeschool this week...
I gave the kids a break from any book work. We were only going to be home for two days out of this week anyway, so I thought I'd give myself a week off from teaching as well.
Places we're going and people we're seeing...
We took an incredibly fun field trip on Tuesday to Chaney's Dairy Barn with our homeschool group. I blogged all about it here. If you live near Bowling Green, KY, or you happen to be passing through that area, it's definitely worth the stop!
Yesterday was another day trip for us, only this time we were meeting The Princess' new orthodontist. Yes, he's an hour and a half away. I know ...it's an insurance thing. If her braces weren't going to be paid for I would be really upset about having to drive that far. However, we really liked this new doctor and we get to drive through the Land Between the Lakes on the way there and back so I anticipate making those visits into great field trips in the future.
Things I'm working on...
Spring Cleaning!! Monday was spent almost entirely in The Princess' bedroom getting it cleaned and organized. Then Wednesday was spent mostly in Mr. B's room doing the same. Yesterday I finally got the bathrooms done and most of the laundry caught up. You'd think we'd be running around naked with as much laundry as I had to do!
I'm cooking...
I did manage to get some home cooking done this week. Last night we enjoyed having my parents and sister over for some good ol' pot roast with all of the fixings!
I'm praying for...
My mom fell this week and broke her right (read: dominant) shoulder. She is so bummed about it because 1.) she doesn't like to be still at all and 2.) she was just getting ready to finish the last round of unpacking since they are wrapping up the remodeling in their new home here. My mother-in-law also fell this week and while she doesn't have any broken bones she is pretty sore from the fall. We are praying that they both heal well and quickly.
I'm grateful for...
Today is mine and Vince's 16th wedding anniversary!! I am so thankful for the blessing of having him for my husband. He is truly amazing and takes such good care of me and the kiddos! I don't know what I'd do without him. We are looking forward to a little overnight get-away tonight in Nashville.
Here's a little blast from the past for you: our engagement picture.
